The company was formed by actors as a response to the lack of cohesive resources available. We bring a greater breadth of jobs, auditions, casting breakdowns and other services to actors at a reasonable price. We help actors find work that otherwise they might have missed, because they can’t afford other casting breakdown and casting report services.
Actors can register their CV’s as part of a searchable database, along with photo’s and sound files, which they can also use for their own direct marketing.
Actors and agents also have access to a casting breakdown service which brings all the latest auditions from the country’s leading casting directors.
There is a regular weekly newsletter featuring a round up of jobs, auditions, and other news, that is delivered direct by e-mail to all subscribers (actors, agents and casting directors).
In addition to this, there are community pages with news and views of what’s coming up, advice for actors, and anything else you can think of.

How does the Casting Breakdown service work?
Casting directors will have access to an easy to use window where they input the details for the specific breakdown, and then choose whether to send to everyone registered on the site (actors and agents), just agents, or even just specific agents that they can choose using a check-list. It will then appear instantaneously in everybody’s e-mail in-box.
For registered casting directors and agents it is completely free to use this service, and for actors it is included in the low monthly subscription fee.
What about the CV database?
Casting Directors and other potential employers who wish to search this site are first vetted by Actors-Inc to ensure their suitability. However, unlike other sites we don't put ridiculous restrictions on the use of the site, so we can maximise the amount of people who are viewing the site with the potential to offer our actor members work.
On top of that, the search engine has been designed so that everything on your CV can be searched upon. So if a Casting Director is looking for somebody who has played Marius in Les Mis in the London production, they’ll be able to find them!
How much does it cost?
The cost for an actor is from just £5/month (inc VAT) for our premium services, and that includes all the services we just mentioned and more to come. All these services would currently cost at least £25/month to the jobbing actor.
This is not an introductory price, and we won’t be pushing it up in the months and years to come. We want to keep it low and provide the best possible service to the entertainment industry.
What's the payment method and how does it work?
It's easy. If you choose the free registration option, then you don't have to do anything. If you would like to take advantage of one of our premium packages, then we will take your credit or debit card details when you first register.
It's really that simple. If you are still worried about giving your card details on the web, then you shouldn't - it's 10 times safer than doing it over the phone. If however you would still prefer to do it this way, you can call us on 01276 36985 during office hours, and we can also take your card details that way.
What does an actor get for their money?
Their own mini-website with a fully searchable CV page that is also printable – handy if you’ve got an audition at the last minute and no CV! A secondary page for biography details, and the option to upload additional photos, MP3 audio files and MP4 video files for demonstration purposes.

No need to sign up with half a dozen different (expensive!) companies as we do it all for you, and hopefully take some of the pain and cost out of the job hunt.
So how do I join?
Easy, just click on the register tab (above) and fill in the registration form. Our system will then walk you through how to add your photo, as well as video and audio files if you have chosen that option. And that's it.

What if I don't have a publicity photo?
Unfortunately we cannot accept applications without a current professional publicity (head and shoulders) shot.
If this is just because your agent has all you photos (like me), then give them a call, and get them to send you a digital copy, which most should have these days.
If you don't have a publicity shot at all, then you need to get one! Head and shoulders, and usually in black and white. You will not be taken seriously at auditions without one.
How long can my audio demo be?
The absolute maximum file we can accept is 1 minute in duration (or 500k for the techies amongst you). There is plent of free compression and editing software out there, and we would advise that especially with audio extracts, most Casting Director's don't want to hear any more than that anyway.
Why can't I hear any sound demos when I click on them?
A few possible answers here. For those of you who are completely technologically challenged, please check that the volume is turned up! This isn't as obvious as it sounds as of course there's the volume control on your speakers (and if it is this, then go and hang your head in shame), but also your windows settings (go to Control Panel then click on Sounds and Audio Devices to check).
There is also the possibility that you don't have the right program. We use Macromedia Flash for our sound files, and if you haven't got that installed on your computer, then you can't hear it.
An easy way to check if you've got the flash plugin is to look at the top left of the screen. If the spotlight is swooshing around over different people, then you've got it. If it's static over one person, then you've not, and you need to go to http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/ to download it (copy and paste this into your address bar at the top then click on Macromedia Flash Player). It only takes 1 minute to download this program, and isn't only useful for this site, but a whole host of other sites too.
Finally, the third reason you might not be able to hear anything, is that not everyone on the site has an audio demo registered. It could be as simple as that......
What if I'm not an Equity member?
This site has been established for Equity members and working professionals only. We would have restricted it to Equity members only, but we know some of you folks are naughty and don't pay your Equity subs when you should! If you can show us that you've received money for work as an actor, singer or dancer over a period of time, or that you have previously been a member of Equity, then that will suffice.
We are keen to keep this on a professional basis though so unfortunately we cannot accept your application if you do not fall into either of these categories.
Additionally, if you are not currently a member of Equity, then do please check with them that you do not have the same name as somebody else who is an Equity member, because they will always have priority over the name, even if you were registered with us first!

Easy. Just e-mail us at info@actors-inc.co.uk with your agency details, and we will add you to our listings. Please also include a contact name, the year your agency was established, how many actors you represent and what areas you operate in (eg Stage, Film, TV, Cabaret etc), as well as e-mail and website details if applicable.
